Well that’s that, then.
The last ever weekly edition of Venue is in the shops now.
This will in years to come be a collector’s item, and a pecious and much-loved family heirloom, to be handed down along with the photos, the jewellery and the hereditary diseases.
It’s got loads of great stuff in it, including several brilliant articles by the various section editors about the changes in arts, entertainment and stuff Round These Parts since the early 1980s. There is also a monster thing by Yours Truly in the form of a completely biased and calculated-to-annoy-everyone local history of the last 30 years. At 7,000 words! The director’s cut is online here.
Also, this week’s Venue has a big list of places the free monthly one will be available from. It’s out in about a week’s time.
It’s been great.
It’s also been a very hectic few weeks. It is now time for sunshine, oh yes.
Just hope nobody starts any riots in Bristol or anything while I’m away.
