Lady Justice

17Aug11

The old police court, Bridewell Street, Bristol. Grade II listed building, no longer in use.

Like most courts of its era, it’s got a statue representing justice up top.

Lady Justice, she’s still got her sharp, heavy broadsword of vengeance.

It looks fit to cleave a man’s skull in two with insolent ease, whether he’s wearing a hoodie or not.

But her weighing scales of fairness have gone.

Bleedin’ obvious metaphors, anyone?
